De route (vertaling volgt)

Early May 2017 we made a cycling tour in Normandy and a small part of Bretagne. We started in Lisieux and combined a few parts existing cycling routes. From Lisieux we took some backroads to Bernay, where we picked up the route from “Normandy en Bretagne, tussen Ansjovis en Anjou”. This is a Dutch guide, but you can download the gps track on www.europafietser.nl or www.normandiebretagne.nl.

Near Mont Saint-Michel we changed to “Fietsen rond Het Kanaal, deel 2 West-Frankrijk”. You can download their gps tracks from www.fietsenrondhetkanaal.nl. Because they keep the tracks up-to-date, I don’t put a link to my tracks here. Finally, from the small coastal village Auberville, we cycled back to Lisieux.

These maps show the location of our trip in Normandy.

Because the planned roads appeared to be very busy with traffic, we decided to improvise and follow smaller back roads from Lisieux to Barnay (day 1) and from Auberville back to Lisieux (day 6).

Pocket Earth

During our trips we always use the iPhone app Pocket Earth as our navigator. You can load tracks, but also let Pocket Earth find a cycling route. That’s how we made our trip back from the coast to Lisieux.
